With guidance form both my Pastor and one of the Board Members of the
Church I attend, I was assisted in having all the elements of God's Armor
included in my prayer.
One of the elements that was not included in Ephesians 6:10-20 is blinders
on the helmet of salvation. These blinders protects your eyes from sin.
It may sound funny, but it actually works.
Lord God I am putting on your armor to protect me from the evil one. I'm
putting on the Helmet of Salvation to protect my mind from evil or negative
thoughts or feelings, but Lord God I'm also adding the Blinders to protect my
eyes from sin. Lord God I want to stay on your straight and narrow path. I do
not what to look Left or Right where there could be sin. And if sin comes
directly in front of me Lord God, let my eyes look away. Lord God I am putting
on the Chestplate of Godliness or Righteousness to protect my heart, my soul
and the rest of my organs from evil or negative thoughts, feelings or actions.
Lord God I'm fastening the Belt of Truth around my waist so I know when the
truth is being told to me or if it is a lie from satan. I myself will tell the truth.
Lord God I am putting on the footgear so that I will be able to spread the Great
Gospel of Peace. Lord God I carry the Shield of Faith for when Satan shoots
his flaming arrows at me, they will be extinguished and be of no harm to me.
And Lord God I carry the Sword of the Holy Spirit, the Word of God, for
nothing can defeat it for the Word of God is the absolute truth.

I had a problem before I was Born Again looking at pornographic pictures and
movies with nudity in it. In praying this prayer and also including the addition
of the blinders, when I watch Television I either do not watch a movie that has
nudity in it, or my eye's automatically look away when nudity is shown in
movies and I no longer look at pornographic pictures. I thought at first that
staying away from nudity would be too hard a task for me, but with God's
Protection with me I find it alot easier than I thought. Thank You God !
Below is the prayer that I pray as an example to you. This prayer can be
changed to better fit your prayers, but my suggestion to you is to include all of
the different elements that are in Ephesians 6:10-20, and if you'd like include
the blinders as well.
